Cairns City is the Central Business District of Cairns and is the home of many of the cities attractions. In 2011, the population was approximately 2200 people.
The Coral Sea is directly east of the suburb, with the suburbs of Portsmith and Parramatta Park are to the south and west.
The Esplanade provides the ideal location for an afternoon walk, with a 2.5km walk down the coast line, with plenty of areas for children to play such as the lagoon and numerous playgrounds. Many restaurants and hotels are behind the Esplanade, as well as the Cairns Night Markets. Other major features of the area include the Cairns Central Shopping Centre, Cairns Aquarium, Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome, Cairns Library and the recently redeveloped Munro Martin Parklands, as well as two high schools.
Living in Cairns City will mean you’re only a short walk away from anything you will need.
